Recipe strawberry bread is particularly good when using summer's fresh strawberries -- but frozen strawberries are good too!

Strawberry Bread -- a Quickbread
3 cups flour
2 cups sugar
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp salt
20 oz strawberries, frozen
1 cup oil
Preheat oven to 350. Grease and flour 2 loaf pans.
Combine dry ingredients then mix well. Make a hole in the
center of the mixture and pour all liquid ingredients
into it. Mix to dampben but do not beat. Pour the batter into pans and
bake for 1 hour or until done.
Recipe Strawberry Bread for the Bread Maker
1/2 c milk
1/2 cups mashed strawberries
1/2 cups mashed bananas
2 tbsp butter
2 tsp sugar
2 tsp salt
3 cups bread flour
2 1/2 tsp yeast
Optional but recommended: Bread Dough Enhancer. Use per manufacturer's instructions.
Add ingredients to the maker in the order recommended by the manufacturer. Add a little extra flour to the dough if it appears to be too moist. Bake using the medium bake cycle.
Recipe Strawberry Bread -- Sourdough
1 1/2 cups flour
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
3/4 cup sugar
1 1/2 cups sliced strawberries
1 cup chopped walnuts
3/4 cup sourdough starter You will find a recipe for sourdough starter elsewhere on this site.
Beat eggs lightly. Mix in the oil and sugar, and
sourdough starter. Add the flour and soda. Stir until flour is just
blended. Fold in the strawberries and walnuts. Avoid overblending. Butter and lightly flour a 8 1/2x 4 1/2 inch loaf pan. Pour recipe strawberry bread into the pan and bake on center rack in oven for 80 minutes or until done. Turn onto wire rack to cool.
