Best Low Carb Bread Recipes

These low carb bread recipes are tasty, nutritious, and easy to make.

Now, back to the recipes.

Here are three highly recommended recipes. I've included both US and metric measurements for the convenience of all visitors.

Low Carb Bread Recipe #1

1/4 cup flaxmeal (59 mL)
2 tbsp. nut meal (pecan is good) (30 mL)
1/2 cup protein powder, plain or vanilla (118 mL)
2 eggs
1/2 tsp. salt (2.5 mL)
1 tsp. baking powder (5mL)
1/2 cup heavy cream (118 mL)
1/4 cup seltzer water (59 mL)

Preheat oven to 350 F. (176 C). Grease a standard loaf pan or spray with a no-stick cooking spray. Combine ingredients and beat for 1-2 minutes with an electric mixer or food processor. Bake 25-30 minutes. Loaf is done when the middle springs back to the touch.

Low Carb Bread Recipe #2: for Bread Machines

Add the following to the bread machine: 3/4 cup lukewarm water (177 mL)
1 tablespoon butter or oil (15 mL)
1 egg, slightly beaten
1 cup vital wheat gluten (236 mL)
1/2 cup soy flour (118 mL)
1/2 cup oat flour (118 mL)
1 teaspoon sugar (5mL)
2 teaspoons or 1 package rapid rise yeast
Optional but recommended: Bread Dough Enhancer. Use per manufacturer's instructions.

Use your bread machine's white cycle, set for regular crust.

Low Carb Bread Recipe #3

2 cups organic soy flour (472 mL)
6 tbsp finely ground flax seeds (90 mL)
4 tbsp sesame seeds (60 mL)
5 tbsp yeast (75 mL)
1.5 tbsp wheat gluten (22.5 mL)
Optional but recommended: Bread Dough Enhancer. Use per manufacturer's instructions.
4 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil (60 mL)
1.5 cups lukewarm water (354 mL)

Mix dry ingredients first, then add oil and water. Put the mixture into a pan that has been oiled with olive oil. Rise in a warm place. When mixture has risen and appears bubbly, pat down and allow to rise again. When risen, bake at 350 F (176 C) for 35-40 minutes.
