Ingredients for Golden Grain Bread Recipe

This recipe makes four loaves of bread.

6 cups of warm water
1 cup light brown sugar
1/3 cup margarine
1 tbsp granular yeast
4 cups whole wheat flour
1 cup Vita B cereal or cornmeal
1/2 cup natural bran
1 1/2 cup cracked wheat
1 cup quick cooking rolled oats
10 cups unsifted flour
5 tsp salt
1 1/2 cups skim milk powder

And now for the second of the waffle recipes.


Use a large bowl, and mix together the warm water, margarine and brown sugar. Stir then sprinkle the yeast over the top. Let stand for 15 minutes.

Using a very large bowl, place the whole wheat flour, Vita B or cornmeal, bran, cracked wheat, rolled oats and four cups of the white flour, salt, and skim milk powder. Mix and add the yeast mixture. Stir for five minutes. Cover and rise until doubled -- about two hours.

Dump the remaining six cups of flour on a kneading board. Turn the dough out onto this flour. Sprinkle some flour over the top of the dough and knead the flour in. This takes about 15 minutes. Shape your dough into a long row. Cut into quarters. Shape into egg-shaped rolls. Place in greased, or non-stick standard loaf pans such as the Chicago Metallic Professional Non-Stick 1-Pound Loaf Pan. Rise two hours until dough comes over top of the rims. Bake at 400°r; for twenty minutes. Reduce heat to 375°r; for half an hour or so. Top should be golden brown and have a hard crust.
